sageoflogic:

From the mouth of the Creator himself.

In other words: stop being a dickhead and whining about your taxes because one day you might need something funded and even if you don’t, it’s not the end of the world if you think about something other than yourself especially if you have the socioeconomic means to do so.
Also, being a college student and dealing with horrible college fees means you get to complain about the price of textbooks and indulge in eating noodles five days a week. It does not mean you can fucking complain about having your part-time job at Starbucks taxed too high, because the sheer fact that you are at college puts you at a more privileged position than many other people. The sheer fact that you are given that chance means that you should work harder than anyone to give that same chance to others.
Also, being anyone who earns more than $250,000 has earned the right to complain about exactly one thing. And that is that they’re not being taxed enough to help even out the gap between their immediate privilege and the needs of everybody.
I will always support any fair and rational tax system, and for now, I will support any fair and rational tax raise. Taxes work in a way so that if they’re cut only one group benefits, and that’s the group that is cutting them. If the trade is an exchange between my tax dollars and safe and efficient roads, and cleaner air and the certainty of being able to walk into any clinic or hospital and know that I will get treated regardless of how much money I have in my wallet at the time and the guarantee that my kids can go to any school and get an equal, unbiased, and motivated education, then I will make that trade every fucking time.
/rant. Even though it shouldn’t be. The rant should not be over until something is done about it.
